My Story

I am drawn to urban landscapes and still lifes that tell a story.

My urban landscape series shares experiences in cities such as my home city of Chicago, New York, and Paris or simply wherever I have happened to travel.  Some of my works are a reflection of grand public buildings to simpler facades with details such as a fire escapes.

I love to depict the moods of city landscapes and how people move and interact with the architecture.  My method of inspiration comes from simply walking the streets searching for subject matter that might otherwise be taken for granted. My paintings will sometimes show small detail from a frontal view like an architect’s drawing, as well as from an angle looking up from below, a view that is often ignored.

My still life series, started in 2026, is evolving and features items that are personal to me alongside of colorful, frothy baked goods, fruits and vegetables. I’ve always been drawn to the bakery and pastry cases and you will see those influences in this series of paintings.
